VACCINATIONS AND IMMUNISATIONS
We can provide most, but not all, of the immunisations required by patients.
TRAVEL VACCINATIONS
With increasing numbers of people travelling abroad, we strongly recommend that you seek advice regarding vaccinations. This can be done by filling out a Travel Questionnaire, which can be obtained from reception. The details of the questionnaire will be assessed by our Practice Nurse who will recommend which vaccinations you require.
We now stock most of the vaccines you may need, ie typhoid, tetanus, polio, hepatitis A, meningitis and hepetitis B and we advise you to contact us at least 6 weeks before you are due to travel. An appointment can then be made with our Practice Nurse.
MALARIA
Patients travelling to areas where there is a risk of malaria can obtain a private prescription from the practice for preventative medication. There will be a charge for the issuing of the private prescription and a further charge for the medication will be made by the chemist.
TETANUS
Tetanus is a serious condition - more than one third of all cases die. The elderly are particularly at risk. If you have never had a tetanus injection or have not had a booster within the last 10 years, please make an appointment with the Practice Nurse.

Hepatitis B is a life threatening condition that people in certain occupations or with certain lifestyles, may be at risk of getting. We carry stocks of the vaccine and recommend vaccination if you are at risk. If in doubt, please ring the surgery and ask for the Practice Nurse.
